Creative Intelligence (CQ)

Case Studies & Emerging Evidence

Learn how the Creative Intelligence (CQ) framework is applied in real professional environments.

Each case study examines the context of an intervention, the approach used, and the shifts participants report as they apply CQ to complex challenges. As additional Creative Intelligence programs are delivered, further case studies and findings will be documented here. Creative Intelligence (CQ): A Case Study in Thriving Amid Disruption
Seminar delivered February, 2026
This case study documents a three-part global seminar delivered in partnership with the Center for Executive Coaching (CEC), designed to help professionals navigate accelerating disruption across AI, market shifts, and changing client expectations. More than 220 coaches and leaders participated across 18 countries.

Rather than focusing on technical upskilling, the seminar introduced Creative Intelligence (CQ) as a practical operating system for uncertainty—integrating emotional awareness, expanded perspective, and structured experimentation into a repeatable decision loop (Reflect → Reframe → Experiment).

Across three sessions, participants moved from emotional reactivity to strategic action. Measurable shifts included a 90% reduction in overwhelm, a 2.5x increase in perceived preparedness, and a significant rise in creative self-identification and opportunity recognition.

The results suggest that when individuals are given a structured way to interpret disruption, they can stabilize faster, think more expansively, and translate insight into action—without waiting for certainty. The framework proved transferable across industries and geographies, pointing to broader relevance for leaders operating in complex, rapidly changing environments.

Key findings:

• Overwhelm eliminated across participants by the final session
• Preparedness for navigating change increased significantly
• Participants identifying as highly creative nearly doubled
• Coaches began applying the Reflect → Reframe → Experiment loop in real-world leadership contexts

Applied Creativity Masterclass Pilot (2023)

Masterclass delivered June-August 2023
This case study examines an eight-week pilot program designed to test whether creative thinking can be developed as a practical, repeatable capability. Participants applied structured exercises, coaching, and real-world projects to challenges such as career transitions, identity integration, and launching new ventures.

The pilot demonstrated measurable and sustained growth. Participants increased their creative thinking scores by an average of 14 percentage points (approximately 20% growth), with gains maintained or slightly improved six months later. Notably, 100% of participants showed improvement regardless of starting level.

Beyond the data, participants reported expanded perspective, increased confidence in their creative capacity, and clear movement from ideas into action. Structured practices such as forced association, reflection, and small-scale experimentation consistently produced new insights and practical next steps.

Although small in scale, the pilot provides early evidence that creative thinking can be intentionally developed when paired with reflection, experimentation, and coaching. These patterns later informed the Creative Intelligence (CQ) framework, which formalizes the integration of emotional awareness, creative thinking, and strategic action.
